The real adventure begins with a morning 4x4 exploration of the Merzouga desert plains. The goal: observing endemic birdlife. Our guides will help you spot Sandgrouse (crowned, spotted), the Hoopoe lark, and with luck, the impressive African Houbara. In the late afternoon, the golden light sets the stage for your first ATV expedition (2 hours) deep into the dunes to track the Sahara's most iconic mammal: the Fennec fox. After breakfast, embark on a fascinating herpetological safari. Discover how life thrives in extreme conditions by observing desert monitors, horned vipers, sandfish, and Uromastyx (spiny-tailed lizards). The day continues with another sunset Fennec tracking session for prime photography. After dinner, the excitement peaks with a grand 4x4 night safari (3-4 hours) searching for nocturnal wildlife: jerboas, gerbils, and the highly elusive Sand cat (Felis margarita). Experience a magical awakening with a sunrise camel caravan, watching the dawn ignite the crests of Erg Chebbi. Upon returning, we board our 4x4s to explore nearby oases and visit nomadic communities. Depart Merzouga for an epic day of off-road adventure. We will follow ancient caravan trails through remote Berber villages (Alnif, Hssiya, Taghbalt) all the way to the giant palm grove of Zagora. This scenic route offers excellent transitional wildlife spotting opportunities before reaching M'Hamid El Ghizlane, the true "Gateway to the Desert." Set out before dawn toward Oued Naam. In the soft early morning light, we will track large desert mammals: North African ostriches, Addax antelopes, and elegant Dama and Dorcas gazelles. After a picnic lunch in the wild, the trail leads us to Erg Chegaga, one of the wildest and most inaccessible regions of the Moroccan Sahara. Overnight: Desert Camp in the absolute wilderness of Chegaga, under a spectacular starry sky.

An early wake-up call rewards you with an exclusive birdwatching session in this pristine environment. We will focus our search on the very rare Lichtenstein's sandgrouse and other species specific to the deep desert. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the immense waves of sand in Chegaga and attempting further gazelle tracking. The morning begins with a search for the Black-bellied sandgrouse and the Cream-colored courser. This area, rich in dry riverbeds (oueds), hosts a surprisingly abundant avian population. After lunch surrounded by untouched landscapes, we hit the trail toward the Tagounite oasis. Keep your eyes peeled, as the journey is ripe for unexpected encounters with desert mammals. We head toward the vast Bohiyara Plateau via off-road tracks skirting the border. This is the prime habitat for the Uromastyx, the Trumpeter finch, and the Houbara bustard. This day at the very edge of Morocco offers breathtaking mineral landscapes and unforgettable encounters with the nomads of the Tafraoute Sidi Ali region, with whom you will share lunch.
